4 years and 1 month later

Yes, it’s been quite a long time since I’ve posted to this blog ! Mostly because of other priorities in my personal life (kids, house, etc…) which even made me stop having a fixed desktop computer at home.

But now I have more and more the idea to revive this blog. Not only to speak about my hobbies but also about professional life and sometimes maybe my rants because there is some stuff really pissing me off which I think is worth sharing 🙂

If you’re still following this blog after such a long time, don’t hesitate to leave a little comment, it will give me even more motivation to resurrect this blog with some new, fresh ideas.

Google vs Microsoft

It’s now official. Google is developing a new technology (Google gears) allowing to run web-2.0 applications off-line. It will enable google on-line applications to run offline which means you’ll be able to run “docs and spreadsheets” instead of Microsoft Word or Gmail instead of Outlook, etc.
Now Google has really jumped into competition with Microsoft. Let’s fight…

First post

So let me introduce myself : quite usual for a first post isn't it ? I'll try to make it short because I'm a lazy guy and took the decision to write this blog both in english and french, my mother tongue.

I was born in Normandy, France and lived in this beautiful region for the first years of my life. I studied there until I was 21 then moved to Nantes to a high school and studied 3 more years. Then I moved to Brussels, Belgium where I work and live now. I'm now working in the network security business. I try to share my time between my job, my girlfriend, my familly and friends, my hobbies and sometimes I sleep but it's hard to find time for this activity 🙂
I mainly write this blog for one reason : talking about Mandriva, my favorite linux distribution and past-time. But I won't restrict this blog to Mandriva and will probably talk about my opinions, cool websites I've found, linux and opensource, my life, etc.

Ok, so this is it for now, but I'll probably post more in the next few days ! see you soon !

Alors présentons-nous : c'est plutôt normal pour un premier post non ? J'essaierais de faire court car je suis un type fainéant et j'ai pris la décision d'écrire ce blog à la fois en anglais et en français, ma langue maternelle.

Je suis né en Normandie, en France, et j'ai vécu dans cette belle région pendant les premières années de ma vie. J'ai étudié là-bas jusqu'à mes 21 ans puis j'ai déménagé à Nantes dans une grande école et étudié pendant encore 3 ans. Puis, je suis parti à Bruxelles, en Belgique, où je travaille et vis maintenant. Je travaille maintenant dans le secteur de la sécurité informatique. J'essaie de partager mon temps entre mon travail, ma petite-amie, ma famille et mes amis, mes passe-temps et parfois, je dors, mais il est difficile de trouver du temps pour cette activité 🙂

J'écris principalement ce blog pour une raison : parler de Mandriva, ma distribution et mon passe-temps favori. Mais je ne restreindrai pas ce blog à Mandriva et je parlerais probablement de mes opinions, des sitesweb intéressants que j'ai trouvé, de linux et de l'opensource, de ma vie, etc.

Ok, c'est tout pour l'instant mais je posterai probablement plus dans les prochains jours ! à bientôt !
